Axys Valhalla Review – Honest Review After One Year of Use

Axys Valhalla tattoo machine has something to offer for everyone, and this is a favorite machine in our collection. We have been using the Axys Valhalla regularly in our studio for one year. And it’s been doing an amazing job. So, this Axys Valhalla Review will provide an overview of all the things that are good and bad about it.
Product Features and Detail:
- Five adjustable strokes
- Ergonomic Design
- 10 Watt Swiss Made Direct Drive Motor
- 5 to 14 voltage
- Power source: Standard RCA or wireless battery pack
Build Quality
Axys Valhalla has been constructed of 6061-T6 aluminum. It offers a solid build quality and an ergonomic design that feels super comfortable in the hand. In terms of weight, it’s only 130 grams. This means it’s super lightweight even when compared to beginner’s rotary machines, including Mast Lancer, Mast Archer, and Ambition Soldier.
Moreover, when holding it, it does not feel super heavy. It’s not too light either, but it’s great for those who like a well-balanced machine. The grip is also super comfortable to hold, and the kit comes with a few different sizes of grips.
So you can easily adjust it according to your preferences. However, there is a problem with disposable grips, as they cannot be fully cleaned. These grips are only good to use on fake tattoo skin and are not suitable for professional tattooing work.
Punching Power
Axys Valhalla features a 10-watt high-torque Swiss motor. This means it’s capable of handling anything from smaller needle groupings to larger ones. Moreover, this rotary pen tattoo machine allows you to adjust the voltage between 5 and 14. This wide voltage range ensures that tattoo artists, whether beginners or experienced, can achieve maximum performance to meet their specific needs.
RCA and Battery Pack
There are two different ways to power up this machine: using an RCA cable or a battery pack. Axys Valhalla allows you to use different battery packs with it, such as the Bishop v2 and the Critical Universal Battery. However, these tattoo power supplies feel very heavy, long, and uncomfortable to hold with Axys Valhalla.
However, we prefer to use the FK Iron Power pack because it feels very comfortable to hold and distributes weight nicely. Although all of these battery packs offer the same power performance, the FK Iron wireless supply doesn’t make it too heavy, unlike the other two. Alternatively, you can also use any standard RCA cable to power up the tattoo machine.
Stroke
When it comes to stroke length, the Axys Valhalla is super versatile and offers various stroke variations. For example, it provides 5 strokes, including 2.5mm, 2.9mm, 3.4mm, 3.8mm, and 4.2mm. This means you can do all things with one tattoo machine.
Axys Valhalla is especially proficient for the lining. For example, at 4.2 strokes, it consistently provides solid and hard lines in just a single pass. We typically use it for a lot of tight trees and dot work, and it works very well. Moreover, it’s also excellent for shading and color packing.
We usually use it at 9 volts and 15-27 curved mags for packing and shading. It works well with any needle grouping we choose. For blending, a 3.4 or 3.8 stroke works best, depending on the type of skin you’re working on.
Comparison with Other Top Rotary Tattoo Machines
There is no comparison of Axys Valhalla with other top rotary tattoo machines available in the market. This machine is an all-in-one solution for all kinds of tattoo work. Five different stroke options, a powerful motor, and solid build quality are the key features of this machine.
Its high-performance Swiss motor can be used for various tattooing tasks, including solid lining, blending, color packing, and other demanding tasks. At the same time, most tattoo machines on the market do not provide this type of power.
However, unlike other wireless tattoo machines, the Axys Valhalla doesn’t come with a battery pack; you have to purchase it separately. On the other hand, most wireless machines come with dedicated, longer battery performance.

Sound and Vibration
Axys Valhalla is a relatively super quiet machine, and vibration is also very low. Even at top speed, it runs very quietly without making any excessive noise or vibration. So it will not interrupt you constantly buzzing in your ear while tattooing.
Easy Cleaning
Keeping the machine clean is important not only for the tattoo artist but also for the client’s health. However, most rotary tattoo machines available in the market can’t be fully cleaned. But Axys Valhalla stands out when it comes to cleaning; it’s super simple.
You can easily remove the grip cleaning cap and fully clean the machine, including the cartridge part and push rod. This is a unique feature of Axys Valhalla, as most machines can’t be fully disassembled for cleaning each part.
Pricing
While Axys Valhalla offers top-class features, it comes with a higher price point. Typically, this is the most expensive tattoo machine compared to other beginner-level rotary tattoo machines, including Ambition Soldier and Mast Launcher.
Axys Valhalla is available for around $699, which is quite costly, especially for budget-friendly beginners. However, for experienced tattoo artists, this machine has everything to justify the price.
Conclusion of Axys Valhalla Review
Axys Valhalla is a powerful and versatile professional tattoo machine with no noticeable complaints. This machine is capable of handling any tattooing work you throw at it. Its solid quality, versatile strokes, powerful motor, and other top-quality features make it a must-have in your studio.
